The 1999 Wallaceburg Midget Griffins headed to Nepean - Ottawa for the weekend of August 7-8 to compete in the Ontario Midget C Championships. They would face off against Midland in the opener and were given a stern test before prevailing in a hard-fought game, 8 - 7 in overtime . Game two was an 11-1 thrashing of Owen Sound. In the semi-final round, they were trailing East Gwillimbury 3 - 2 in the 3rd period before storming back to win 8 - 3. In the final vs Gloucester, the Griffins again were down in the 3rd period this time 5 -3. Ryan “ Bun “ Blair shut the door down the stretch as Wallaceburg came back to win the Midget C Ontario Championship with a 6 - 5 victory.

Head Coach Kim O'Neil and his assistants Charlie Pollack, Lloyd Fox, and Collette O'Neil were successful in taking the team all the way in 1997 and 1999!
