Juvenile Girls Wildcats
Inducted 2019
These young ladies showed off their dedication right from the very beginning when they began their off season training under the direction of their coaches at the W.T Lang School gymnasium. And sure enough when the ice was removed from the arena they were in prime condition to hit the floor running. They participated in a local league consisting of Chatham, Point Edward and Wallaceburg, and had a record of 10 wins and 2 losses. They also took part in the Golden Horseshoe Tournament in Toronto Losing 6-5 to a team from Toronto in the finals.
From there it was on to the Ontario Juvenile C Championships in Mississauga. The tournament included teams from Brantford, Chatham, Point Edward, Orangeville, Hamilton and Owen Sound to see who would reach the final. Wallaceburg eventually defeated Owen Sound 6-5, but it took triple overtime to do it. And in the final they met up with an old rival from Chatham. Again they would win a thrilling game by a score of 6-5 to win the Ontario C Championship and an invitation to represent Canada at the Canadian National Exhibition.

They received a letter from the Premier of Ontario, William G. Davis, who wrote "On behalf of the people of Ontario, for earning through perseverance and determination the Ontario Championship Certificate for outstanding achievement in the amateur sport field. Our purpose in presenting these certificates is to encourage those in our province who have shown extraordinary interest and prowess in various Ontario Sports Programs."
