
2026 Master Class Inductee - 1978 Juvenile Satans Lacrosse Team

Team Members: Ric Dauw (coach), Bob Heath (manager), Chip Mathews (trainer), Frenchy Charron (equipment manager), Mark Boudreau, Mike Phenix, Kevin McGaffey (G), Marty Kenny; Terry Smith (G), Andre Neefs, Dave Charron, Scott Holek, Brad Heath, Ric Bye, Steve Bujaki, Mike Raymond, Wayne Maurice, Ray Raymond, John Zandbergen, Kip Wieringa and John Mathews.
The 1978 Wallaceburg Juvenile Satans won all five games at the Ontario tournament in Brampton, making them the Juvenile D provincial champions. They were the first Wallaceburg juvenile team to win an Ontario title since 1926. The Satans dumped Barrie 7-4 in their first game. Dave Charron and Ric Bye scored twice each, with Mike Phenix, John Zandbergen and Kip Wieringa with singles. In game two, Wayne Maurice scored a pair to lead the Satans past Timmins 7-2. Singles went to John Mathews, Mark Boudreau, Wieringa, Ray Raymond and Scott Holek. In game three, the Satans hammered Kawartha 28-1. Goal scorers were Mike Raymond with five, Bye and Marty Kenny with four, Wieringa and Mathews with three each, Boudreau with two, and Steve Bujaki, Ray Raymond, Holek, Phenix, Zandbergen and Maurice each with single goals. Game four was much closer with Wallaceburg nipping Midland 6-5. Bye had a pair for the Satans with singles going to Phenix, Bujaki, Mathews and Ray Raymond. In the finals, Wallaceburg again met Midland and thistime the Satans won 4-2. Scoring for Wallaceburg were Wieringa, Bye, Mathews and Zandbergen.
