At St. Elizabeth Elementary School in Wallaceburg a young Jody Christian began her sporting career
by playing as many sports as she could and excelling at them. She would go on to Wallaceburg District Secondary School where she played basketball for the 4 years. She played on the Kent County Championship team of 1981 and was named to the County All Star team in 1982.
Outside of school Jody played Field Lacrosse as well as ice hockey for the Wallaceburg Lakerettes and ball hockey in the Chatham Ladies League, twice winning the MVP award. She also played baseball in Port Lambton and Dover Center. After graduating from WDSS Jody was off to St. Clair College in Windsor, where she would play 3 seasons with the Lady Saints basketball team and was named to the OCCA All Star team in 1987. She was voted Intramural Athlete of the Year and was inducted into the St. Clair College Hall of fame in 1991.
In hockey, she played for the Sarnia Starfires Ladies team and won Provincial titles in the C, B, and twice in the A division. She also won a B division championship playing for the Windsor Wildcats in 1997. After moving to Tecumseh she began playing some very high level Slo-pitch and in 1992 she played on the Sisters Team that won the A division of the Canadian Slo-pitch Championships. She won a B division Canadian Championship in 1997 playing for TGI Fridays. She would win a second A division Canadian Championship again in 2000.
